Title: Why we need a Hippocratic Oath for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scientists
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence has significantly improved human activities. Nonetheless, there are various risks anticipated to increase as AI approaches human level intelligence or become super-intelligence. Thus, it is crucial to ensure that AI continues to be fundamentally beneficial to humanity. It is suggested that the personal accountability of AI researchers and their ethical behaviour will be vital to ensuring safe AI. A Hippocratic-like oath for AI scientists could raise awareness of the potential lethal dangers of AI and enhance the global efforts for safe AI. Furthermore, it can help deter unethical practices and promote integrity in conduct. In summary, the suggested oath has the potentials to elevate ethical standards and moral principles within the AI community while also reinforcing initiatives for the responsible use of AI technologies.
